Stage 1: Traceable Waste Recovery We begin with the careful sourcing of post-consumer waste plastic from white goods – specifically the interior components of discarded refrigerators and freezers. This traceable material comes from UK-based suppliers who specialise in processing plastic moulded interiors from appliances at their end-of-life.
The scale of this waste stream is significant: every year an estimated 2 million tonnes of electrical waste items are discarded by householders and companies in the UK, with large household appliances making up over 40% of this waste. Approximately 3.5 million fridges alone are thrown away annually in the UK, creating a substantial source of high-quality plastic waste that would otherwise contribute to landfill pressure.
Stage 2: Solar-Powered Manufacturing Our recycled plastic pellets arrive at our Cornwall facility, where renewable energy powers our entire manufacturing process. Using injection moulding technology driven by solar power, we transform waste pellets into premium promotional products that meet the highest quality standards.
Our commitment to environmental responsibility extends to every aspect of production. We use plant-based inks for all printing, ensuring our Planet Positive Promise remains consistent throughout the manufacturing process. Each product is manufactured to order, eliminating overproduction and reducing waste at the source.
Stage 3: Complete Circular Manufacturing We achieve zero plastic waste through complete circularity. Any production offcuts, products that don’t meet our exacting quality standards, or returned items aren’t discarded – they’re immediately fed back into our manufacturing cycle. This circular approach ensures every gram of recycled plastic serves a purpose whilst maintaining the premium quality your customers demand.
R+: Our Enhanced Sustainability Range
An example of our commitment to innovation is clearly visible through our development of R+, a revolutionary material that solves both business and environmental challenges. Originally developed to create a completely circular manufacturing process ensuring all waste material was reused, R+ now represents our most advanced sustainability offering.
What Makes R+ Different
R+ products are produced from waste material from our manufacturing process (exclusively using recycled WEEE material) combined with all waste generated from our print process. Both streams are blended to create R+, a unique recycled plastic enhanced with a biodegradable additive that gives products a distinctive speckled appearance, offering a more natural and aesthetically pleasing look.
Enhanced End-of-Life Options
The biodegradable additive in R+ products provides enhanced disposal options compared to standard recycled plastic. When disposed of in appropriate conditions, the additive is designed to accelerate the natural breakdown process, though we recommend recycling as the primary end-of-life option where facilities are available.
Our Environmental Impact
By focusing specifically on white good interiors, we’re targeting a waste stream with proven volume and consistency. White goods make up 40% of electrical waste, representing a substantial opportunity for meaningful environmental impact through responsible material recovery.
Current UK statistics show that only 46% of waste is recycled, with significant amounts still reaching landfill. Our process actively addresses this challenge by creating a dedicated pathway for post-consumer plastic waste that might otherwise contribute to environmental pressure.
